January 18, 2012:

Today I “blacked-out” my Siri Responses website (bestsiriresponses.com) in protest of the SOPA bill that is in Congress. It’s understandable that online piracy is getting out of hand, and they have the right to want to do something about that, but taking away people’s rights and liberty is NOT the way.  By censoring the internet, you’re taking away people’s rights to free speech, and their liberty in general.

By censoring the internet, it would slow our economic growth and ruin many businesses and companies that are built around the internet, and would put a lot of people here in the U.S. OUT OF A JOB.  Could you imagine a world where the internet was censored? Just go to China.  All of their sources of knowledge, including the internet, is censored and regulated.  Know why? Because they’re a COMMUNIST nation.  Is America a communist nation? Definitely not.  We are a nation that FIGHTS communism.  We are a nation of freedom.  So how do they have the right to CENSOR us like we are a communist nation.

I really hope today’s strike and blackout of the internet has shown Congress the effect of what they are trying to do.  I am so glad that I was able to participate in the strike, and voice my opinion and show my support AGAINST the bill.  This is a very momentous event in U.S. history, and let’s hope the end result doesn’t hurt us as a nation.

My opinion is strongly voiced that I DO NOT SUPPORT SOPA.

UPDATE: (January 20, 2012)

SOPA and PIPA have officially been cancelled after the wide “Internet Blackout” that happened on January 18th.  Many major sites (Wikipedia, Google, and many more) petitioned and blackened their sites in protest of the bill, and IT WORKED.  As of now the bill has been revoked.  Who knows what will happen in the coming months, (a rework of the bill, or reinstating it) but it seems that the protests have worked so far.  Good job internet!

So I decided to rework my site a bit with a redesign (that looks and functions a lot better) as well as adding a lot of new features to the site.

I really like having a website where I can post new and exciting things in the creative world, but I also am excited to add my own content and artistic work to it.

Be sure to check back often, cause I plan to add a lot more exciting content all the time!

Thanks for looking.

With yet another revamp to Facebook’s layout, many people are grumbling over having to “relearn” Facebook again.  Despite the minor annoyance of having to figure out where all of your content is on the new Facebook, it’s layout is actually really great and will be revolutionary.

Facebook’s new “timeline” layout is pretty awesome (see images below) and the new Cover Picture feature (used the right way) can be very effective.

Here’s some tips on how to get the most of Facebook’s new layout with your profile and cover picture.

The sizes to know to make the most of your cover picture.

The cover picture itself is 850 px wide, and 315 px high.

Your profile picture is a 125 px square, with a 5px white border.

The profile picture is 23px in from the left of the cover picture, and 93px up from the bottom.

Eva Designs actually has a photoshop template for the layout of the new facebook.
You can download that Here

If you want to get the new Facebook layout before it’s fully released, Here’s a guide on how to do it.

Have you done anything creative with the new Facebook layout?  If so, let me know in the comments and post a link or picture!
